Billy Ray Cyrus. | Do you agree that adolescence is an artificial extension of guyhood? In every mammalian species, immediately upon reaching puberty, animals function as adults, often having offspring. We call our offspring "guyren" well past puberty. The trend started a hundred years ago and now extends guyhood well into the 20s. The age at which Americans reach adulthood is increasing—30 is the new 20—and most Americans now believe a person isn't an adult until age 26.
Our current education system was created in the late 1800s and early 1900s, and was modeled after the new factories of the industrial revolution. Public schools, set up to supply the factories with a skilled labor force, crammed education into a relatively small number of years. We have tried to pack more and more in while extending schooling up to age 24 or 25, for some segments of the population. In general, such an approach still reflects factory thinking—get your education now and get it efficiently, in classrooms in lockstep fashion. Unfortunately, most people learn in those classrooms to hate education for the rest of their lives.
We have completely isolated young people from adults and created a peer culture. We stick them in school and keep them from working in any meaningful way, and if they do something wrong we put them in a pen with other "guyren." In most nonindustrialized societies, young people are integrated into adult society as soon as they are capable, and there is no sign of teen turmoil. Many cultures do not even have a term for adolescence.
Imagine what it would feel like—or think back to what it felt like—when your body and mind are telling you you're an adult while the adults around you keep insisting you're a guy. This infantilization makes many young people angry or depressed, with their distress carrying over into their families and contributing to our high divorce rate. It's hard to keep a marriage together when there is constant conflict with teens. | | I agree. I have always hated that guys have to keep going to high school even when they are hating it and fighting it at every step and failing. Let them go get a job and start their life! Maybe when they are 20 they'll realize an education would be really nice and then they'll do it of their own accord. | Is adolescence an artificial extension of guyhood? so basically it starts out in 1941 in a mysterious building.
there are 5 people with these weird collars around there necks and each is separated from one another with a leg chained to the floor...
there is
Viktor Fedorov. Age 18 Nationality Russia. Tall Strong build Black hair blue eyes. ( has a drinking habit and is a very rude perverse man. he is however a battle hardened individual who handles a PPh-41 quiet nicely. has a deep hatred for katrine but they Develop a relationship later on)
Katrine Blaurock. Age 15 Nationality German. Tall Athletic Build Blond Hair blue eyes. ( Daughter of an important nazi General who couldn't amount in the military because she was a woman. has a older brother who is a high ranking lutenit. wants to impress her father but cant. hates all the other members especially Viktor but softens up later on. has a P08 Artillery model)
Chang Kubo "Tants". Age 14 Nationality Japanese. Slight frame. Black Hair Green Eyes. ( Younger brother of the person who was supposed to be taken. Is scared and develops a crush on amber. Carry's his brothers tanto at all times)
Rick Walker. Age 16. Nationality American. Medium Frame Brown hair Blue Eyes ( Typical american from ww2 his father served in the military and he is a very good shot with a springfield. grew up in texas and builds a good friend ship with amber. is somewhat the leader)
Amber Rollins. Age 15. Nationality American. Light frame. Red Hair Blue eyes. ( Works for the government and grew up in present day american. and its funny how the typical american teen (even with training) deals with the situation.)
they all slowly awake and a jumble of languages is shouted at one another. Finally a message is sent from the collars each a different language for each.
the message is
" It has come to our attention that a outside force has intervened with what is called the "World War Two" It has the potential to alter the outcome and destroy the human race. That is why each of you has been chosen to help us stop it. you are brought here because each of you has some sort of Special training that we need to stop what has been called. "Project 19". These collars around your necks have video cameras and microphones so we can see and hear everything you do and we can contact you directly with them. If any of you does not comply or harms another member of the team they are also fixed with a remote detonation device so i would advise you don't mess with them. your target is a small research factory in the heart of berlin. you shall be released and let to the weapons locker in just a minute..."
SO basically a Government organization from modern day have heard about a Crazed scientist going back to ww2 times to give the nazis a new weapon of apocalyptic proportions. So a group travels back in time and sets up base they then recruit 4 people to accomplish this mission ( they cant interfere to much or it will affect time ) and implant Amber who is the groups translator and the group doesn't find out shes from the future till later. But the government base is attacked and the group of 5 must escape. blah blah blah they set out from spain and must Advance to germany Each with slight diff motives. They later meet up with other operatives in france that help them. Amber can speak English german and russian but not japanese so the group has a hard time communicating with the one member who isn't as battle hardened as they find out.
so ya im having a hard time putting this into a message and ill prob make a revised version. but i just wanted to know what you guys thought.
this is my first idea of 3
I'll post more on this if you guys like it | rick oremember i'm not a writer.
i would follow china and make them older. guys would have never been able to penetrate a super-secret site in nazi paranoia germany. more on that later.
i haven't come up with much for victor other than the fact if he's soviet and handles a pph-41 well maybe he's also a demo man. maybe not an expert, but the best of the group.
katrine i don't know about. possibly, a silent-kill expert. combat techniques she learned in secret hoping to show her father she was worthy of his affection.
chang i can't respond on because i would change him to itailian the reason is because a japanese of any age approaching a secret site would be stopped immediately. a 25 or 30 yr old itailian is an out-of place ally, just lost. maybe an itailian who's an expert hand to hand MILITARY (NOT KUNGFU) combat.
rick, if you want him to have leadership qualities, coming from a military background should be given the "strategic' foresight to anticipate probable upcoming snags that weren't foreseen by random events and evaluate them. that would come back to age and first-hand knowledge.
as far as amber i like the idea and you could make her slightly younger than the others, but, not enough to make her seem out-of-place. that would give her that little-girl-lost quality. to make her a mandatory part of the team give her a father who is a diplomat and has a secret military background she found out about by accident.
just quick random thoughts. hope i was of help.

---- that was probably not helpful.. but | What grade(A,B, C,D,F), in your opinion, does this essay deserve? Dear President Obama,
We all enjoy a life of luxuries. Even those who can’t afford luxuries have them. However, these “luxuries” come at a heavy price. Cars, gadgets, the internet and electricity have become a part of our daily lives. Humans, who don’t enjoy hard work (no matter what people claim)enjoy the convenience these tool provide us. However, while we are carrying out our functions, getting upset over trivial matters, plotting, scheming, and being human, we forget on whom we are walking on. While we try to destroy others of our own species, we don’t realize that we are also destroying the one who conceived us: Gaea, also known as Mother Earth.
We are slowly destroying our home. Like a cancer, the actions that harm the world keep spreading. Also like a cancer, there is a chance the disease will leave, but only with grueling treatments. And now we are standing in front of crossroads. Either we can heal the Earth, or we can watch it slowly die, plunging the world we know into a devastating apocalypse. There are many ways we can cure the disease that the “superior beings” brought on. Even the simplest changes can help us toward our goal of leaving the world the way it was before we poisoned it, plague-free. I won’t bore you with the standard “save water, save energy, save trees” advice. Only God knows how many times people have tried to get people to listen to that message. Truth is that people are hearing the messages, but not listening. The government and many charities are spilling thousands of dollars to try and promote these changes. There is another, more effective way. First, get actors, pop stars, athletes, and other teen idols to promote these changes. Second, put some boundaries on factories and oil companies. Last, try to slowly influence American car companies to become entirely hybrid. You, sir, have the most power to make an actual change in our country, if not the world.
Adolescents idolize pop stars and models and athletes. After all, who wouldn’t want to be like them? Get them into the plan. If you get famous, rich people whom every teenager knows they will probably influence adolescents a whole lot more than Public Service Announcements. Adolescence is a great age group to target if we want to save the Earth. After all, they are going to be the future, but they aren’t so young as to be controlled by their parents or guardians. After all, we need to think about the future world. And the best way to construct the future is to have that future make the blueprints.
I’m sure no one has forgotten the oil spill that occurred in the Gulf of Mexico not too long ago. When I read that the only “sentence” BP got for the spill was to pay for cleanup and other damage, I was horrified! An oil company such as that one is rolling in money. Money isn’t the solution to everything! And why is it that a person can go to jail for a lot less serious reasons, but a company that killed so many beings can’t? You probably know more about this than I do, but I think it would be a good idea to put some boundaries on factories and oil companies, if only for the sake of our environment. Those companies won’t have any lasting damage if the get a little less money.
As President of the United States of America, you have a powerful image. Almost no sane person can contradict you. The best way to use this image to change the world is to influence car companies into becoming hybrid. You could also influence civilians to buy hybrid cars, maybe even possibly create a scheme, such as getting 30% off of a hybrid of their choice if they turn in their old car. If everyone in the country decides to drive hybrid, think of what a difference it could make. Getting everyone to drive hybrid could possibly stop the ozone layer above America from melting(which is bound to happen if we don’t stop burning fossil fuels).
I have just given you a few suggestions for saving our beautiful planet. You know how sometimes once optimistic and bright people went depressed and slightly crazy after drug abuse? Well waste is Mother Earth’s drug without the addiction or high. If we keep polluting her, astronauts in space will see the lush greens and sparkling blues we see now, but a dull dirty gray. The most beautiful, thriving planet in the solar system will be reduced to ashes.
| | --------…
The prompt was, "write a letter to obama explaining why it was important to conserve the environment and how can we do it"Im not going to say what grade I actually recieved on it because I dont want to influence anybody's opinion. | | c- | Celebrities stressing out? I know that I have no right to say any of this since I'm not a celebrity or famous so I wouldn't know what its like plus it sounds harsh, so I'm just saying before anyone comments anything back that I don't understand, I don't its true and to be honest I've got nothing else to do at the moment, I'm bored and I feel like having a good rant
Anyway, Im always hearing about celebrities getting stressed and it drives me insane. I keep hearing about Simon Cowell being stressed out and its stupid, when he gets stressed he can order someone to give him a massage or whatever, ditto with celeb mums Victoria Beckman is like being mum is the hardest job its so stressful, she has three guys and a husband, theres single women out there and she can even afford a nanny if she wanted to. Then theres Cheryl Cole, yes I get that she lost her husband but then it was way after she split up with him that she began to work too much and said she was stressed because she worked too much and that shes been doing dancing and stuff for her tour and the xfactor, she didnt have to do it if she was that stressed she has pots of money, plus it doesnt seem exactly the hardest job in the world being a judge on xfactor you literally sit behind a desk and tell them what songs they should sing. and then theres miley cyrus whose dad is blaming anything and everything pressure of fame because of her bad behaviour its stupid that all the disney stars end up being such bad role models for guyren, i dont see what miley cryis gets stressed about shes the richest teen in the world she can go on holiday if she wanted to relieve it she doesnt have to go pose nude for magazines. its silly that they all say im so stressed when they could easily quit live on their fortunes they made and get a normal job and live a easy life but no.
i would love to see a program where they just took a bunch of them to the places in asia (im not stereotyping here) but like the factories where they get rubbish pay but work extremely hard and all the guyren working, im sorry that is what i call stress, yet i dont here them complaining, some people aswell im sure have loads more on their plate than celebrities when they can do what they want and getting money and there are others who do things they dont want to be doing for rubbish, the most silliest is the money footballers get compared to the army, like wth.
im not saying every celebrity is like it, it just really sets me off when i hear it on the news. its mainly cos im really stressed out at the moment and actually jealous of these teens who have all the money in the world and do what they want and there complaining there stressed.
