Do you have to take showers nude in high school?

I'd hope you would have the guts to shower nude- would look pretty silly showering in your boxers, like some guys may suggest. Still have to take them off anyway, in order to get dressed. Frankly, you don't have anything no one else has, and all guys look pretty much the same down below when not aroused. So be a guy who is growing up and don't be shy about showing you are comfortable being nude. Most adult males have no prob doing that. Nor do most boys your age-- just you in your natural state.

Back in the early 60's and before it was common for guys to swim in the nude. Nobody made anything out of it. I was told that the pool filters used to get clogged with the material from the old swimming suits. It was common at the YMCA (which was for men only) and it was acceptable at Jr. High in Pennsylvania. We also were allowed to swim nude at a boys YMCA camp wear we had outdoor showers and changing rooms. Back then there was no talk about gays or molestation. I don't know what changed. Have be become more conservative?

Can high school students perform nude in Equus?
If it is a pitvotal part of the play how could a high school put on the performance? The actors, even upperclassmen, would most likely be age. Has it ever been done in the US with high school students performing naked?

I don't know how the subject came up, but no one at work will believe that before the days of coed PE, where schools had swimming pools, it was common practice for the boys to swim nude in order to avoid the inconvenience of dealing with swimming suits. We thought nothing of it, as times were quite different then. Please tell me I am not crazy.

you are not crazy. In fact YMCA's did not allow swim suits to protect their pool filters from lint. Only when they decided to admit women did this policy change. Schools up into the 1960's regularly had same sex nude swimming.

I think what we really have here is a classic mix-up of ability (can he go) and permission (may he go).

If you are asking if he can go, (as in does he have the ability), I don't think anyone could really answer unless they knew the specific circumstances regarding the boy. Mostly I think an average 14 year old boy most certainly has the ability to go to school nude unless

a) he is himself physically impaired from removing his clothes (i.e. paralyzed, tied to a post, knocked unconscious, wearing a straight jacket, or wearing such tight fitting wranglers that he cannot remove them without assistance, etc)

b) he is prevented from getting to the school by some outside circumstance (i.e. trapped in a ring of fire, school demolished, bus drives off a cliff, etc)

Now, if you are asking if he MAY go to school nude then that's a whole different issue.

First it seems likely that his legal guardians would disapprove of his going to school nude, unless of course he was raised by wolves or grew up with celebrity parents.

Even if they did give him permission, most school nowadays have some kind of dress code policy. I am pretty sure most such policies require at minimum the possession and application of some type of clothing.

But even if they didn't most cities and states have laws regarding being nude in public.

But even if yours doesn't, I still would advise against it. For one it would be gross. For two it would mark you as the biggest freak for life. Finally it would probably increase your odds of being on the Jerry Spring show at some point in your life by like 8000%.

Personally, if I were you, I would refer this guy to the school counselor.
