What's the truth about subliminal videos? I'm aware of positive experiences resulting from making changes to how one feels at a subconscious level. It looked like subliminal videos could be great for people - just sit back and watch and enjoy the benefits.
I thought I'd investigate what's offered. I'm pretty disgusted at the results, which include:
* Very dodgy claims, e.g. they can make anyone wealthy
* The most obvious cheap sales tricks, like buy now to save x% - today only!
* Misleading offers, like claim your absolutely free video (only if you buy a bunch of other stuff)
* Try the free sample - none of which work (unrecognised file formats)
* Watch this online short video (that doesn't work)
* Harvesting email addresses to hit you with loads of their adverts
* Excessive sales talk like dodgy car salesmen trying too hard
* Countless efforts to grab your money
My experience is that honest suppliers of honest products don't use all these tricks - they simply advertise, provide the means to order and pay, and supply.
I looked for a long while and found nothing that seemed trustworthy.
Anyone out there had experience with these videos?
Are there any genuine, trustworthy providers of these videos or what? | | Studies show that there is no significant effect, if any effect at all due to any subliminal messaging of any sort. | How long do you think it would take to program the following...? my dream is to produce a video game engine interface which can take audio samples, placing them in position in space, allowing adding effects to be applied to them in a chain, identifiers of which would look like decals on race cars or something, or simply having an accessible menu or separate "box" come up which contains the chain of effects that were like 3d shapes with lines connecting them in order.
if this is confusing, i will tell you what i'm planning to do:
1. mathematics for game design course (currently taking)
2. two courses which create 2d and finally 3d game engines utilizing video card, directx effects, and shaders
3. create an audio sequencing app
4. steal c++ code from "buzz" for effects (or simply program them myself with the formulas on wikipedia)
within the game engine, the user will manipulate sound events like shapes grabbed by a "hand" and then, like a basic 3d animation app (like bryce) will be able to say where the sound will be at times, with it performing intermediate rendering of the sound in the path it must travel. the other dimensions will be effects affecting the sound over a certain time, and in the case of echoes or reverb, these would create actual physical representations that can be physically manipulated in a logical "solid" way.
extra features would include intuitive "wizard" style things to make 45 minutes of audio sample and effect sequencing be possible to perform in 5.
the thing is, not only could this make 3d audio production easy, it would automatically created the coolest 3d video that wasn't poorly constructed to go with the music, it would BE the music. i plan to use c# and visual studio, which i get for free as a student. | | Like the screensaver videos that change based on the music? | What does my dream mean? So, I like my guy best friend. My dream was about him having a party. I was walking down the street, and he was in his backyard. I run up to him super angry and ask him why I wasn't invited. He replies,"Sorry. I don't like you and you don't like me." So, I got really angry and cried. I walked right into his house and sat on his couch. He came in and gave me a really long hug. We even went downstairs to play video games. (By the way, it's always the same house in all of my dreams) Then, I couldn't take it anymore, and I ran upstairs. There were a lot of rooms, so I opened the door and saaw Peter Griffin from Family Guy in the bathtub?? I started freaking out and ran into another room. Then my crush/best friend came in pounding on the door, but I didn't want to talk him. I finally ran outside. I went home and got into the car with my mom, dad, and my little brother. We go to a grocery store. It was really late at night. We bought a bunch of stuff, and there were a bunch of guys sitting in a dark cafeteria. A guy was sitting there giving out free samples of strawberry cupcake things. So, we ate some and left. Right as we get in the car, a man with a gun tells us to get out. We gave him our groceries, and I discreetly dialed 911. The police told me they'd be there, but never came. He let us go and a couple pulled out guns on us. We ran back inside to the safety of the cafeteria. I dialed 911 again, no one came. I woke up at that point.
This isn't a recurring dream, but I have recently had a dream about people pulling guns on me and even shooting a man who was with me. I've also had dreams about my crush/best friend. If anyone knows what it means or would just like to guess, please answer this. Thanks so much. :) | | This is a natural process. The emotional development is like a muscle, when you work out a muscle, you are literally destroying it, and then rebuilding it. The same happens emotionally. Your experiencing fears that are common, calling for help when nobody comes, rejection, someone taking what is yours etc. This is the minds way of coming to terms with what is, and what could be. Alot of times younger individuals feel they are invincible, while they know in their head they arent, they simply feel in there heart that since they haven't ever been really hurt, that they must be invincible. This process is the same, your just experiencing your mind and emotional set stretch itself, so that in time it will be more capable of handling stress and fear. A few months from now you will more than likely find yourself more capable of handling stress and fear. Both in relationships and in day to day life. | What do you think of the start of my short story? It's about a boy whose father is going off to war, in case you're not sure. It's the first time I've attempted to write a short story btw.
I didn't fear much for his safety. Only his sanity. Sometimes when he used to play football, half the players would end up horizontal, writhing in pain and he would be totally oblivious. No, he could look after himself alright. Nothing, however, could protect his tender brain-tissue; not even his shield of muscle. Minds scar easily; the soft, comically-pink organ is susceptible to it. That is what I feared.
I did my best to look after him, to keep him company. After all, the only company he would experience for the next few years would be stale with necessity. Plastic friendships would be molded. But maybe it would be enough for him? I mean, I had no experience in that kind of environment. Unless it was pixelated. I always did enjoy video games. How could a young boy like me understand his father's blood-thirst? Sorry, sorry. Not blood-thirst. That makes him sound like a certain Bram Stoker character. How could I understand his need for action? Yes. That's a better way of putting it; his need for action.
My mother couldn't understand it either. She thought that he received plenty of action. He hurriedly explained that she had 'the wrong kind of action.' Maybe he saw me in the room? I don't know what he was worried about; I hear worse at school. I just bent my head and carried on scribbling down my pretentious poem. I'm a poet. Not a famous one, you understand. I'm not even published. In fact, the only other people who have heard them are my best friend and my pet gerbil. Not that I get a very good literary critique from him. His cabbage is probably far more engaging.
The days counted down. I, although reasonably calm about the whole thing, found myself losing my appetite. Very strange for me; eating is one of my main hobbies. If I had five stomachs, I'd fill them. I know exactly the right time to visit the chocolate shop; when they are giving the free samples out. I also lost my highly cultured taste for online shoot-em-up games. Every time a digital figure exploded in a cloud of blood and sausages (I assume they are supposed to be intestines; the graphics aren't too great on our computer) I would wince. Putting a face to the faceless victim.
My mother was in a right state on the run-up to his departure. She kept on asked me disbelievingly;
'Johnny, how can you be so unemotional? Don't you care?'
The rest of her sentence usually were drowned out in a dramatic fit of sobbing, which I needed subtitles for.
The day arrived. I swallowed down my breakfast, the burnt toast raking unpleasantly down my throat. It was the last time we were going to see him in a long while. You would have thought we'd be talking about everything, from politics to bin collection times. But we said nothing. Only listened to the roaring clock. | I really like it.
I would love it if you sent the full story to me, when it is finished.
I think it'd be great if you added something really unexpected, like the main character is gay, neurotic, schizophrenic, or something like that.
Fantastic work. | Today I converted to vegetarianism! What foods should I sample or avoid? A few months ago, I tried tofu.
Last week, I tried hummus with breadsticks.
For breakfast this morning, I devoured tomato couscous with black olive chunks.
And I think I'd like to become a vegetarian.
For as long as I can remember, I've condemned animal cruelty and believe that the slaughter of animals was heart-wrenchingly upsetting and unethical. I would shudder listening to "Meat is Murder" by The Smiths. I used to cry my eyes out watching YouTube videos of distressed farm animals being flogged, tasered and tortured until they spasmed violently and slowly died on the floor. I like reading about people adopting animals, Darwin's theory of evolution and I admire PETA's campaigns for the prevention of animal cruelty. So my questions are:
What health risks could I run into for avoiding meat consumption? (Anemia?)
What are your favourite vegetarian foods?
What foods wouldn't you recommend to a new vegetarian?
What are your personal reasons for refusing to eat meat?
How difficult is it to maintain a completely meat-free diet?
As a vegan/vegetarian, what foods besides meat do you avoid eating?
Thank you, guys! I'm fifteen years old it it helps. | I have spent a lot of time around vegetarians and vegans, specifically raw-food vegans, and I can tell you that only the most liberal vegetarian diet works. The idea that you do not need the resources contained in meats and other animal products is absurd. The strict vegetarian diet cannot sustain a healthy human being. Every single strict vegetarian and vegan I have met has had serious mental and physical problems. For instance, I spent two weeks living in a family of raw food vegans. The grandmother was a psycho who was unable to control her mental stability, her daughter had serious skin problems, and the grandguyren all had mental issues, including seizures. The family's survival was always on the brink of absolute insanity. All real vegetarians I have met (not including the ones that eat fish and eggs, nice try, you're not fooling me) have had pale complexion, poor mental health (mostly minor problems, not insanity), and poor physical health (either under or overweight, and unable to remedy either).
There's nothing wrong with vegetarian food. There IS something wrong with a vegetarian diet, to eat nothing but vegetarian food. I do not condone unnecessary animal cruelty either, but neither do I consider food production to be unnecessary. | Can this be done any better adjective and phrase wise? Can more points be added?
In this essay I will be analysing the two hip hop videos Jesus walks by Kanye west and Lean Back by Fat Joe to discuss the messages contained in each of the videos.
Hip Hop formulated from block parties in the 1970’s. Political, social and personal issues and can be expressed in ways such as; beat boxing, sampling, free styling and rapping. It became popular through African American culture with some Jamaican influence.
The hip hop culture has changed since the 70’s it has gone in various different ways and will continue to change as the years go by. Hip Hop does not require any vocal talent so anyone feels they can do it, now it’s all about drugs, alcohol and girls being portrayed in the wrong manor and people running from the police.
Jesus Walks by Kanye West and Lean Back by Terror Squad convey the messages of the way people should live in each of the videos.
Kanye West is presented to the audience as a godly creator giving out a positive message. He is normally shown in a low level or long angle shot to show him as a highly godly figure, shown as a preacher, you see people lifting their hands up toward him making him look superior. His video represents destruction and shows that even when you’re at your lowest point god is there, the video also shows poverty with the homeless man being the example who is drinking and he’s shown at a close up shot. The beginning of his video is set in a church and is in black and white unlike Fat Joe's video Lean Back which is in colour and is set in a seedy night club. They both have women in each of their videos but they are portrayed in different ways
This is only the beginning as you can see i would really be grateful if i could get help. | Your punctuation is poor. You have run-on sentences, and you have not put the titles of songs in quotes, as you should. Don't worry about not enough adjectives. You have more than enough. Get your punctuation, capitalization and sentence sequence and sentence structure straightened out. Here's an example of how the first few paragraphs should read:
In this essay I will analyze the messages in two Hip Hop videos: "Jesus Walks" by Kanye West and "Lean Back" by Fat Joe.
Hip Hop has its roots in block parties of the 1970’s. Although the predominant influence is African American, there also is input from Jamaican culture. Hip Hop was originally the expression of political, social and personal issues through beat boxing, sampling, free styling and rapping. But the culture has changed since the 70’s. Unfortunately, it is now all about drugs, alcohol, bad portrayal of women, and people running from the police.
Hip Hop does not require any vocal talent so everyone feels they can do it.
Now you have to write a transition from the general background (above) to the specifics about the two videos you are analyzing. | Where can I get quicktime movies (minimum of 30 seconds) for my class? Professor sort of fell through...? I am in an audio production course. For the assignment we have to replace the audio of a 30 second quicktime movie file. The problem is, the Professor was unable to upload his sample clips to his website so we are on our own - and I can't wait to see if he is able to do it because my project partner is going away and I need to do this ASAP because the project will take twice as long with only one person.
That being said, I don't want answers like "just ask your professor for more time." Just answer the question I have posted - Where can I get 30 second long (or more) clips of video from TV, Movies, or what have you in quicktime's .mov file format, free online? | | Yahoo video search, type in any topic. you can define your amount of time and application there. | Why does Youtube keep saying that people are infringing copyrights? Most things on youtube aren't directly made by the people who post them. But that doesn't mean they're gonna claim that they made the music and everything. Youtube is great for advertising for free. But with stupid companies like Viacom and Sony that keep deleting stuff, and Youtube getting more and more commercials, Youtube is just going to get more and more annoying for users. I mean when you see a video of pictures put together with a song in the background its pretty much assumed that you weren't the one who made the song unless otherwise noted. Anyways, like the guy who made the 5 second summaries of movies. Why is he suspended? His videos were like 15 seconds long.. with like 5 seconds of actual content which he edited together himself. If youtube is saying that you cant even post things you edited, then the majority of youtube needs to be suspended. Its just so ridiculous and stupid. Sites like youtube are a way a lot of people find out about new music and everything since they usually wont find it (or wont find it as easily) on TV or the radio. and then you can sample out songs from an album before buying it. if we didnt have sites like youtube and we had to all rely on tv and the radio then the 2000s wouldnt have had people with such a large range of music tastes. its why like when we think to the past decade we cant think of a specific music trend to define the whole decade. cause it was able to branch out and people found what was really their favorite. whether its contemporary music or music from the past. Anyways, I dont think Youtube is on the right path right now. And if they're gonna have commercials they might as well make them varied.. I hate seeing the same thing over and over. thats not gonna make me wanna buy the product, it will make me want to AVOID it cause when i see it at the stores now i'll be reminded of my annoyance w/ the commercials and not want to get it. And whats next for youtube? making you pay for using the service? i really hope not cause theres nothing else online to go to that has as much a variety & user base as youtube. Im pretty sure Im not the only one who is pissed right now. You? | Copyright is NOT a "YouTube rule". It is real genuine law that has been around for over 60 years.
Uploading copyright content onto the web is anauthorized redistribution simply because the web is public.
YouTube themselves, copyright owners and adults generally do not regard uploading somebody else's content, edited or not, as "making a video" because there is no creativity. You are simply uploading something you have found elsewhere.
Here's the big thing.
You wanna know why Google got their hands on YouTube?
The three guys who started YouTube say, publicly and quite correctly, that teens destroyed the site with their obsession with uploading copyright content. Teens simply refuse to stop despite the copyright advisories all over the site and even on the upload page itself.
YouTube was started as a site for ordinary people to upload and share home videos, shot with video camera or cell phone, with the users own sound - no copyright issues whatseover.
That's it.
As a result of the endless violations by teen users, resulting in endless hassle for the YouTube owners from copyright owners, the three guys who had the vision to start YouTube got so fed up and dishearted that they finally decided to give up, sell off the site, and walk away.
New owners Google are planning a MySpace=style copyright filter which will actually prevent delinquent videos being successfully uploaded.
The ads that annoy you so much are actually an alternative to having the video deleted | Can someone proofread my argumentative essay? Can someone proofread my argumentative essay? Feel free to make changes if needed. P.S. sorry if it seems long...
In the United States, many people like to go out to dine at restaurants and fast food places on daily basics. People can turn their head to the right and left and they could see someone next to them who is obese or overweight. “Approximately 22 million guyren under five years of age are overweight. During the past three decades, the number of overweight guyren in the Unites States has more than doubled. In 1983, 18.6 percent of preschool guyren in the United States were defined as overweight, and 8.5 percent were defined as obese; by 2000, 22.0 percent of preschool guyren were overweight and 10.0 percent were obese”(Decklbaum and Williams p. 239S). Guyhood obesity is an “epidemic” in America as many guyren are either overweight or obese. The reasons for guyhood obesity are lack of exercise, healthy eating and nutrition, health problems, and low self-esteem.
The lack of exercise and physical activities is one reason for guyhood obesity. Therefore, there are many elementary schools that do not have any physical education teachers to teach exercise. For example, many elementary schools would have teachers who have no background in physical education teach students about exercising. Instead, they would tell students to go outside during class time about once a week to play kick ball or softball and that would be their exercise for the week. Another reason for not exercising is technology. Many guyren do not want to go outside to play with their friends, exercise or do any sport participation. They rather stay at home to chat with their friends over the Internet using Yahoo Messenger or AIM (software programs that allow people to chat with each other). They also rather stay at home and spend hours in front of a television playing video games and watching television shows like Rob and Big, CSI, and Sponge Bob. “Television viewing often is considered one of the most modifiable causes of obesity in guyren. Guyren spend a substantial part of their lives in front of the television set. Recent parent-report and self-report data from a nationally representative sample of 3155 guyren indicate that 2- to 7-year-old guyren in the United States spend an average of approximately 2.5 hours per day and 8- to 18-year-old guyren spend an average of about 4.5 hours per day watching television and playing video games. When these data are combined with typical sleep data from guyren, it is found that guyren in the United States are spending more than 25% of their waking hours in front of the television set” This shows that technology is a big influence on why guyren do not want to exercise or do any physical activities.
Many guyren who are obese in America do not eat healthy or have proper nutrition. Now a day, many parents are busy with work so it is easier for them to drive to McDonald’s or Burger King’s to order some fast food meals along with soft drinks for their guyren. Instead of cooking a meal and having their guyren drink water. In addition, these fast food restaurants like McDonald’s would try to convince their customer’s by asking them if they would like to “Supersize” their meals, so they can have larger portion of French fries and larger soft drink’s that would cost a few cents more. “As guyren's body weights have increased, so has their consumption of fast foods and soft drinks. The proportion of foods that guyren consumed from restaurants and fast food outlets increased by nearly 300% between 1977 and 1996. Guyren's soft drink consumption has also increased during those years, and now soft drinks provide soft drink consumers 188 kcal/d beyond the energy intake of nonconsumers”. Proper nutrition is essential and yet many guyren are not consuming enough fiber per day. Instead, they are consuming less than 10 grams of fiber per day and less than 25 grams per day during adulthood. “A 5-year-old guy should consume at least 10 g of fiber per day and fiber intake should approach adult levels (20–25 g per day) by 15 years of age. Unfortunately, persons of all ages in the United States eat far fewer than the recommended number of servings of whole-grain products, vegetables, and fruits. In 1994 to 1996, only 3% of individuals 2 years of age consumed 3 daily servings of vegetables (with at least one third being dark green or orange vegetables), whereas only 7% consumed 6 daily servings of grains (with 3 being whole grains). Currently, dietary fiber intake throughout guyhood and adolescence averages 12 g/day or 5 g/1000 kcal (4200 kJ), a level of intake that has not changed in the past 30 years. Because total carbohydrate content has increased considerably during this period, most of this increase seems to be in the form of fiber-poor refined grains, starchy vegetables, and sugar-sweetened beverages” The lack of knowledge about nut | recommended changes marked by **
