| I didn't wear robes when I lived on campus but I had a suite styled room where we shared a bathroom with 3 other girls so I changed in the bathroom is u are doing communal bathrooms then I would go for the short robes. When it gets cold in the midwest they usually turn the heat up in dorms so u should be fine! DONT FORGET SHOWER SHOES!! I lived on campus for a year before I transferred now I live at home! :) |
| At my college the shower curtains are too short width wise and you can see right in. Please help? I'm looking for a simple solution, that isn't permanent. Something I can put up or down or something each time I take a shower, and I dont mind spending the extra time. | I was trying to think of something that wouldn't seem too noticeable or dorky. How about getting a big beach towel (most are 30 x 60, but you can get bigger ones) and carrying it with you to the shower. Push the shower curtain over until one side meets the stall wall and closes the gap, then throw your beach towel over the curtain rod where the curtain doesn't reach, and that will cover the gap at the other edge of the stall. If it doesn't hang down far enough or doesn't want to stay, maybe a couple of clothes pins will hold it from the inside. Nobody will see you've pinned it. Or, some variation of that, whatever fits. I don't like peepers either! I'm a master at covering up bathroom stall door gaps with jackets, purse straps, paper towels, whatever! :-) |

| I had my baby shower in august and it was so fun! I'm 20 and I was worried about it being boring and dull!! But it wasn't!! Here are some games we played.. - baby price is right ( buy some baby products, bibs, bottles, socks, etc. and add the sum up that you paid for all of it. Print a paper with all the items on it and have ur guests guess how much each thing was and then add their total up and whoever comes closest to your sum wins) - baby bingo - measure the tummy - dirty diaper game (melt different types of candy bars and put them in diapers and pass around for your guests to see if they know the candy bar) kinda nasty but fun!! - baby food game Also if you need an idea for center pieces on the tables, you can consider making diaper cakes! | It's different in different schools and in different dorms, but communal showers are virtually unheard of in the last few decades. Most of the time, though, there are at least private stalls with either a curtain or a door. Just to warn you, sometimes there are coed bathrooms, in which case there are always private stalls of course, and always with sufficient cover. It's not unusual to be self-conscious at first, sharing a bathroom with so many other people. Usually, people will walk to and from their rooms in towels or robes. You get used to it after a while. Most schools will honor a request for single sex accommodations if possible, either a girl's only dorm, a girl's only floor, or at least a girl's only corridor. More girls request such accomodations than guys, so to be sure you get your needs met, you should make the request as early as possible (if you're starting college next week, it's a bit late, if you're starting college next year, you should check out the dorms while you're visiting schools and ask about this kind of stuff to make sure you're going someplace you'll be comfortable). And enjoy college, it's the best time of your life. |
